I'm All About Jesus!

Do you know who you are in Christ? The devil thrives on our ignorance of who we are as Christians. Thank God for the Word of God that reveals our identity in Christ. Enjoy this piece I wrote some years ago about my identity in Christ.

I'm all about Jesus

Amazed at what he did for me on Calvary’s cross (Isaiah 53:5) - Pierced for my rebellion; crushed for my sins; beaten, so I could be made whole; and whipped, He healed me.

I feel empowered by what He did when in the grave - He went down to hell to snatch from the devil the keys of death and the grave (Revelation 1:18), confirming His statement that all power and authority in Heaven, on earth, and beneath the earth has been given to Him’- Alleluia (Matthew 28:19-20).

I am justified through His ascension. Sitting at the right hand of God, the Father (Ephesians 1:20), He remains my Advocate (1 John 2:1) and my Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). He has torn down the walls (Matthew 27:51) separating me from my Father and through Him [Jesus], I have free access to the throne of God (Ephesians 2:18).

Understanding that there is absolutely nothing that I can do to stop Him from loving me, gives me a thrill (Jeremiah 31:3; Lamentations 3:22; Romans 8:38).

And oh, how I feel, knowing that if and when I draw on the credit card of sin, His grace is there to cover my shameful debt (Ephesians 2:8).

I’m all about Jesus

I have no worries about the devil because I have been engraved in the Palm of my God (Isaiah 49:16). I am His tattoo. Therefore, for any harm to come near me, it has to go through my God. It’s so safe to know that nothing can overcome Him (John 16:33).

I’m all about Jesus

He knows and calls me by my name. I am His (Isaiah 43:1).

He takes delight in me with gladness, He calms my fears with His love, and He rejoices over me with joyful singing (Zephaniah 3:17).

If He had a refrigerator, I’m sure my picture would be on it. Sure? Yes, because He even knows how many hair strands I have on my head (Matthew 10:30). He loves me personally (Isaiah 43:1).

When I fail Him, all He requires is my confession with true repentance, and then, He is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Sometime ago, He told me, “Child, I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). And true to His words, He never has.

I am not afraid to die, because in Him I live, I move, and have my being (Acts 17:28). After all, for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21).

OH! How joyfully overwhelming it will be when I begin to share in His glory in Heaven (Romans 8:18; Colossians 1:27). Who can beat that?

I’m definitely all about Jesus, and there’s no turning back – Amen.
