It Was a Blue, Blue Friday… But Sunday Is Here!
Sunday is coming. A glorious, unforgettable Sunday. The King of Glory alive. The Hope of Israel here. The Light of the world shining again, brighter than ever.

It was a blue, blue Friday.
Jesus knew He was going to die. That is what He came to earth for anyway. He had been picked up the night before. And as He stood before Pilate that morning, He remembered last night – the heaviness in His heart, the sweat of blood pouring down his cheeks. It was the last of the many times He would go to a solitary place to spend time alone with His Father. Pilate asked another question that snapped Him back to the present moment. Rather than respond to Pilate, He heaved loudly and muttered under His breath, probably for the umpteenth time, “This is your will, Father. I surrender.” It was not going to be easy for Him, obviously.
“Crucify Him! Crucify Him!! Crucify Him!!!” The people chanted. His own people. Those He came to die for. Such betrayal, I think. But all that filled His heart was love.
Soon, He would be beaten with stripes designed to disfigure His human flesh past recognition. Soon, He would be spit on by the very creatures He moulded with His hands. Soon, He would be abused, insulted, ridiculed, by those who should tremble at His very presence. And then, He would be hung on a Cross meant for mere criminals.
Jesus died. His family and friends cried. As they looked at Him hanging on that Cross, they thought, “Oh, it is over. The King of Glory gone. The Hope of Israel lost. The Light of the world put out forever. We are doomed. Finished. Helpless. Forgotten.”
But not so…
Friday has been a blue, blue day. But Sunday is coming. The Son of Righteousness will shine again. He would rise, never to be put down again. He would rise, victorious forevermore. He would rise as Conqueror over sin, death, and sickness.
Sunday is coming. A glorious, unforgettable Sunday.
The King of Glory alive. The Hope of Israel here. The Light of the world shining again, brighter than ever. Man is restored. There is a new beginning for all who accept His unfathomable love expressed in His unimaginable sacrifice.
Sunday is Here. Help has come. Hope is alive. Jesus is Risen. Never again to die.
Praise God. Sunday is Here!
