S.O.A.P.S Bible Study Template
S.O.A.P.S. is a Bible study methodology that gets students to analyze a few verses at a time in deeper detail, plan how to apply it to their personal lives, and decide who to share with.
S.O.A.P.S stands for:
Scripture – write out the scripture(s) you would like to analyze.
Observation – record your observations and interpretations from the scripture. Look out for common themes, key phrases, repetitions, connectiveness, advice, commands, warning, promises, comparisons, contrasts, illustrations, places / locations, what it says about God, what it says about people, etc.
Application – reflect on what God is telling you about this verse and write down how you’d apply it to your life.
Pray – about what you have learned, asking God to help you remember and apply them.
Share – with someone who God is laying in your heart.
