Worry: A Sign of Ingratitude and Pride
It may be that the ground you’re standing upon is about to give way beneath your feet. I encourage you to take a moment to look away from those challenges and remember God’s blessings over your life

Recently, while counting my blessings – all the good things that the Lord has done for us this year, I realized that I had been mostly ungrateful. God has been so good to me and my family, blessing us both with things money can buy and that money cannot buy. Yet, I had been so myopic worrying about the little difficulties that presently exist, and the uncertainties that I could not [but pridefully imagined it was in my power to] control.
Whilst, counting my blessings, these words dropped in my spirit: Worrying is a sign of ingratitude and pride. I had been both ungrateful and prideful. I was convicted by those words, I asked God to forgive me and immediately began to thank Him.
I suddenly saw that I had senselessly fallen into the devil’s trap these past weeks. The non-issues before me were so magnified that they blurred my vision of all the good things my family and I enjoy and receive from God every single day. I began to see that I had spent the past weeks incognizant of God’s unfailing love and several assurances in His word of His presence and help because I wanted to be in control of my life, family, finances, and children. I had indeed been fully into my head and all about myself and in those few minutes, I saw myself letting go and allowing His peace in.
Friends, I don’t know what it is you’re going through. It may be that the ground you’re standing upon is about to give way beneath your feet. I encourage you to take a moment to look away from those challenges and remember God’s blessings over your life; and in the words of the songwriter, count your blessings, name them one by one, and see what good things the Lord has done for you.
Release it all to Him and trust Him as He says to you, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10.
